Committees at work for Zion

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION - Is responsible for the nurturing of the faith of children, youth, and adults through Sunday Church school classes, first communion class, confirmation ministry, as well as youth and family ministry.

FELLOWSHIP - Is responsible for planning social activities for families and/or adults in the congregation. Activities are varied, including multi-generational events, taking place at the church and in the community.

EVANGELISM - Is responsible for reaching out to those outside our church family by sharing the Gospel [Good News] with them.

FINANCE - Is responsible for overseeing the financial resources of the congregation, preparing the annual budget, and arranging for annual audit of treasurer's accounts.

PROPERTY - Is responsible for maintaining and caring for all the property of the congregation, and providing a safe environment for the ongoing ministry of the congregation.

SOCIAL MINISTRY - Is responsible for serving our neighbors both here and abroad through special projects such as Lutheran Settlement House, Project Outreach, Silver Springs - Martin Luther School, Spring City Food Pantry, St. Mary's Shelter. Also encourages members of the congregation to use their spiritual gifts for the benefit of others.

STEWARDSHIP - Is responsible for working to help our members use the gifts God has given them [financial resources, time, and abilities] for the ministry of the church and the care of all.

WORSHIP & MUSIC - Is responsible for coordinating weekly worship and special services throughout the year, providing music for worship and special occasions, and overseeing the work of Altar Guild. (Altar Guild prepares the sanctuary for weekly worship, baptisms, weddings, and funerals; sets up for communion, and arranges flower delivery to homebound and hospitalized members.)
